Welcome to Day1 Ltd, Charity SC036896
DAY1...Discovering our youth potential

We are a Scottish based charity providing young people between the ages of 14 to 17 with a year long one-to-one befriending and mentoring service, the aim of which is not only to help them discover a positive direction in their lives but also to move into work.

We work closely with local businesses, schools and recreational clubs and we organise a wide range of new experiences and opportunities for young people to build their confidence, independence and self worth. Each young person, all of whom will be experiencing tougher times than most, is mentored in such a way as to encourage them both to discover and work towards fulfilling their true potential.

Our Mentors are ordinary people (actually quite extraordinary people) in the community who come from all types of work and social backgrounds. DAY1 provides all the training and support they need to act as highly effective Mentors to their young people.

For more details of what it is that DAY1 stands for and what it is that we do, please have a look at the About Us, Key Characteristics and Programme pages. For more information on mentoring, please explore the Mentoring page. You are also welcome to contact us directly for an informal chat of course.

Termed the MBE for volunteering groups it recognises the outstanding contribution made to local communities by groups in the UK voluntarily devoting their time for the benefit of others.

Day1’s mentoring programme is run using MentorNet, an on-line mentoring platform that makes it easy for mentors and mentees to communicate and makes it simple for Day1’s coordinator to track contact between mentors and mentees. MentorNet was developed by sfG Software as a joint venture with Day1
